Does Conjointly record responses from people who did not complete the survey?

Yes. Conjointly records the answers of respondents who drop off in the middle of a survey.

As a respondent moves through your survey, their answers are saved in the background. If they leave before finishing, for example, by closing the browser tab or losing their internet connection, their answers up to that point are recorded as an incomplete response after 10 to 30 minutes of inactivity.

This applies to respondents from every source, whether they come from Conjointly’s panels or your own respondent links.

If a respondent drops off but later returns and completes the survey, their incomplete response is replaced by the final submitted response, so answers are never duplicated or mixed.

How complete and incomplete responses differ

Incomplete responses are handled differently from completed responses:

• They are not included in the online report or in your analysis.
• They appear in the Quality checker listing, but they are excluded from automated quality checks and scoring.
• They are included when you export respondent data, for auditing or diagnostic purposes. Filter them out using the Status of response or Is good for analysis column if you need analysis-ready data.

In the list of survey participants, these respondents appear with the status Opened survey link, but did not complete survey. You can also see after which question they dropped off.

For respondents who are screened out instead of dropping off, their submitted response up to the point of screening is saved in full.
