International Women's Day 2020: Women in Statistics

This infographic explores some major accomplishments by women in statistics – the capstone of quantitative market research, ahead of International Women's Day.

This International Women’s Day (IWD), Conjoint.ly is celebrating all women in the market research community with hopes their outstanding contributions to the field will be heard and applauded — not just today, but every day. By bringing this topic into the spotlight, we believe this year’s IWD theme, #EachforEqual, is a motivating call to promote diversity and inclusion across the community. As proud supporters of global network Women in Research (WiRE), we endeavour to uphold their mission “to advance the contributions and voice of women in research, both for themselves and for the greater good of the industry” and share it with others.

In the past decade, organisations such as WiRE have helped to build and encourage women in the market research community. One discipline in particular – statistics – the capstone of quantitative market research - has made notable progress over the years, achieving many milestones in terms of female representation and commendation. To highlight women’s importance to the market research community, we explore a timeline of some of their significant accomplishments in statistics in this infographic.
